What the site collects, why, who handles it, how long it is kept and what you can ask of us.

Who we are

Automated Trade Bots (automatedtradebots.com) is a free education site about trading bots. It is written and run from Australia by Charles. You can reach us through the contact page.

What we collect

  • Calculator inputs. The calculators run in your browser. The numbers you enter are not sent to us or to anyone else.
  • Sign-up details. If you sign up for updates we collect your name, your email address, what kind of bot you run, anything you chose to tell us you want tested, the date and time, and the page you signed up on. We also record that you ticked the box to agree.
  • Contact messages. If you use the contact form we collect your name, email address, the topic you chose and your message.
  • Page views. We count visits with a simple counter that records the page, the page you came from and your browser type. It does not use advertising cookies and does not build a profile of you.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider records the IP address and the pages requested, as any web host does. We do not use these logs to identify you.
  • Fonts from Google. Each page loads its typeface from Google's font servers, so your browser sends your IP address and browser details to Google when a page opens. Google's own policy applies to what it does with them.
  • No accounts. The site has no sign-in and holds no password or payment details. We will never ask for a password, an API key or an account number.

Why we collect it

Your email address and name are used to send the updates you asked for: a short email when new calculators and guides go up. The bot type you choose helps us decide what to write next. Contact details are used to reply to you and to check a reported error. We do not sell your details, and we do not give them to anyone to advertise to you.

Who handles it

Sign-up and contact details are stored in a database run for us by a cloud database provider, and emails are sent through an email delivery service. Those providers handle your details only to store them and to send what you asked for. Some of these providers store data on servers outside Australia. Your hosting provider and Google (for fonts) also see the technical details above.

How long we keep it

We keep sign-up details while you are subscribed and for up to 12 months after you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, so that we do not email you again by mistake. Contact messages are kept for up to 12 months. Server logs are kept by the host for the period it sets.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can unsubscribe from updates at any time by using the contact page and choosing "Change or remove my details". If you are not happy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and its date. This policy is written in plain words for a small Australian site and is not legal advice.

Know the Risk Before You Run It

Free calculators and guides, added every week. Leave your details and we will email you when new ones go up.
