AUTOMATED TRADE BOTS

About This Site

Short answer

A free education site about trading bots. It shows the arithmetic of how an account fails, not how a bot sells.

Everything here is education only. Example numbers are made up and labelled, and the pages show the arithmetic so you can check it yourself.

  • Free to read
  • Plain words, no jargon
  • Education only
  • Made-up examples are labelled

Start with the average trade

Before margin or drawdown, check whether the average trade makes money after costs.

The problem

Most pages about trading bots are written to sell one. They show a rising line and a win rate. They rarely show how the account fails: how far a losing run can go, what the costs take, or when the broker closes the positions.

That gap is what this site is for. A bot is a set of rules that places trades for you. The rules can be sound or unsound, and the first step in telling which is arithmetic you can check yourself.

Who writes it

The site is written and run by Charles, a builder based in Australia. That is all this page says about people. It is a new site, and it will say more when there is more to say.

What is on the site

How pages are made

Every figure follows the rules on the method page. Example numbers are labelled as made-up. Numbers we calculated are labelled with the date. We do not publish backtests today. When we do, each will show its data, dates, costs, a later test period, the worst drawdown and the number of trades.

What the site is not

  • It does not give advice, and it does not tell you what to buy or sell.
  • It does not sell signals.
  • It does not manage money.
  • It does not sell bots today.
General information only. Trading carries a risk of loss. Read the disclaimer.

How to read it

Treat each page as a way to check a claim, not as a source of one. If a bot page says a setting is safe, use a calculator here to find the margin it needs, the loss it can reach and the costs it pays. Then check your own broker's terms, because rules differ between them.

If you find a mistake in the maths, we want to know. Use the contact page.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Who runs this site?

The site is written and run from Australia by Charles, a builder. There is no company or team page yet.

Does the site sell bots or signals?

No. It does not sell bots, signals or managed accounts today. It publishes free calculators and guides.

Is it free?

Yes. The calculators and guides are free to use and need no account.

Why does the site avoid saying which bot is best?

Because a ranking would be a recommendation, and the site gives general education only. It shows how to check a bot's arithmetic so you can judge a claim yourself.

Can I trust the numbers?

Check them. Every example is labelled as made-up or as calculated on a date, and the formulas are shown so you can repeat the working. If you find an error, we will correct the page with a dated note.

Are the numbers on this page real?

Example numbers are made up to show how the maths works, and the page says so. A figure only counts as exact when the page says it was calculated on a stated date. Nothing you enter in a calculator leaves your browser.

Can I use this to decide whether to run a bot?

It can show whether a bot's numbers hold together and how much an account can lose. It cannot say what the market will do, and it is not advice. Use it to ask better questions, then read the terms of your own broker or exchange.

Is this financial advice?

No. It is general education and does not consider your situation.
